Lysa J. Israel

Lysa J. Israel is the current Senior Director of Development at Count Basie Center for the Arts. Lysa has previously held the position of Vice President at RWJ University Hospital Somerset Foundation and Director of Development at The Drumthwacket Foundation.

Lysa has been instrumental in increasing total donations at both organizations through prospect research, principal and major gifts, planned-giving, the annual fund and special events. At RWJ University Hospital Somerset Foundation, they increased donations from $800K (2018) to $3M (2019). At The Drumthwacket Foundation, they created the first Major Gift Program which increased major donor donations by 433%.

In addition to their work in fundraising, Lysa has also created successful stewardship and donor recognition programs. Lysa has also researched and applied for grants that align with the Foundation’s expanded education programming. As a result of their efforts, the total number of grants awarded annually increased from 5 to 21.

Lysa J. Israel attended Drew University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government.
