Todd Hartley has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Todd is currently serving as the Senior Vice President for Legal and Business Affairs at the Country Music Association (CMA), where they manage all legal work for the organization and optimizes deal structures to drive the CMA's strategic plan. Prior to their role at CMA, they worked as the Senior Counsel for Marketing and Communication at Bridgestone, supporting various marketing teams and leading a team responsible for clearing marketing tactics and creative. Before that, they worked as Counsel at Nissan Motor Corporation, defending advertising litigation and overseeing talent and sponsorship agreements. Todd also served as a Law Clerk for the Chief Judge of the Federal District Court, where they assisted with criminal and civil federal court cases. Additionally, Todd has experience as Counsel for the United Nations World Food Program, managing commercial agreements and arbitrations. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Associate Attorney at Watkins & Eager, representing clients such as Toyota, Nissan, and Bridgestone in products liability litigation.

Todd Hartley attended Mississippi College from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, General. Todd then pursued further education at Vanderbilt University Law School from 2007 to 2010, earning a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. In 2018, they participated in the Talent Up Executive Education Program at Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management, although the field of study for this program was not specified.
