Mbotela William serves as an Environmental & Social Safeguards Specialist for the ELRP-World Bank/GoK Project at the Kenya Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives since March 2021, focusing on compliance with safeguard standards and the development of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP). Additionally, Mbotela has held the position of Principal Environment Officer at the County Government of Turkana since March 2015, specializing in solid waste management and the protection of fragile ecosystems. Mbotela holds a Master of Arts in Monitoring & Evaluation from Africa Nazarene University, a Postgraduate Certificate in the Economics of Competing Energy Technologies from Stanford University, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Kenyatta University, and a certificate in Geo-Spatial Database Development & Management from the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development.
