Gary Besser

Gary Besser is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in project management and business services. Currently serving as Strategic Projects Manager for the County of Marin since November 2020, Gary manages projects focused on strategic planning, economic development, and equity, including the Marin County Race Equity Budget Tool and the Marin Race Equity Action Plan. Prior roles include Employment Development Supervisor and Court Supervisor for the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda, as well as Business Service Supervisor at Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc., where responsibilities involved grant and data management. Earlier experience encompasses managing a chain of collateral lenders and operating Gary Besser Drilling and Pump, specializing in water well services. Gary earned two Associate of Arts degrees from Butte College, one in General Studies and another in Social Sciences.
