John Datiles, P.E. is a civil engineer with extensive experience in engineering project management across various government agencies. Currently serving as a civil engineer for the County of Maui's Department of Public Works since March 2022, John has previously managed statewide engineering projects for the State of Hawaii's Department of Land and Natural Resources from January 2017 to February 2022. Prior to that, John worked as a naval architect at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF, focusing on submarine maintenance engineering. With a solid background at Caltrans from May 2008 to December 2015 in roles ranging from transportation engineer to assistant structure representative, John contributed to the state-wide design of special structures and bridge construction projects. John began their career as a student assistant at Caltrans and interned with Contra Costa County Public Works, holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
