Manuel Escamilla

Manuel Escamilla is a seasoned urban planning and policy professional with extensive experience in local government. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor for the County of Orange since February 2023, Escamilla previously held the position of Planner II with the City of Oakland from March 2021 to February 2023. Escamilla has a background in city governance, having run as a candidate for the Santa Ana City Council in 2019 and worked with the Planning and Building Agency in Santa Ana, focusing on advancing the city's General Plan. Additional roles include serving as a Management Assistant in the City Manager's Office and as an Archivist for the Santa Ana History Room. Educational credentials include a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA and a Master's in Library & Information Science with a focus on Archival Studies, also from UCLA, alongside a Bachelor's in History from UC Berkeley.
