Ana de Castro Maquiz

Ana De Castro Maquiz has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2013, as a Community Outreach Intern at the League of United Latin American Citizens, they gained experience in outreach and community engagement. Ana then worked as a Service Representative Intern at the Social Security Administration, where they analyzed critical notices and collaborated with decision-makers to improve processes. In 2014, Ana served as an Administrative Assistant to the Board Associate at Associated Students, Inc. - Sacramento State, honing their administrative skills. Ana also worked as a New Student Orientation Leader at California State University, Sacramento during the same period. In 2016, Ana took on the role of Program Coordinator at LULAC NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER and later served as a Public Information Officer at the North Monterey County Unified School District, showcasing their program coordination and communication skills. In 2016, they also interned as a Public Relations Intern at KP Public Affairs. Most recently, Ana joined the County of San Benito, first as a Bilingual Senior Deputy County Clerk-Recorder-Elections and then as the Chief Deputy Clerk-Recorder-Elections.

Ana obtained a Doctor of Education - EdD degree with a specialization in Organization & Leadership from the University of San Francisco from 2022 to 2027. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services at Colorado State University Global from 2017 to 2019. Ana also earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a focus on Communication Studies emphasis in Public Relations and Sociology from California State University-Sacramento, attending from 2011 to 2016. In addition, Ana briefly studied Sociology at Corvinus University of Budapest in 2015. Ana completed their high school education at San Benito High School, graduating with a High School Diploma in 2011.
