Jose Del Toro has worked in a variety of roles within the mental health field. Jose began their career in 2016 at Crisis Support Services of Alameda County as an MFT Trainee, providing psychotherapy and crisis intervention to various populations. In 2018, they became a Psychotherapist at Sankofa Holistic Counseling Services Inc. and a TBS Clinician/LMFT at Lincoln Families. Jose then worked as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Eden Counseling Services from 2019 to 2021. From 2020 to 2021, they also served as a Licensed Marriage And Family Therapist at Emergence Centre. In 2020, they joined Foresight Mental Health as an LMFT and CCTP. In 2021, they became a Forensic Mental Health Clinician & Evaluator at Counseling & Psychotherapy Center. Currently, they are a Chief Mental Health Clinician (CMHC), Foster Care Treatment Team, Program Manager at the County of San Joaquin. Jose's experience includes program management, casework, treatment planning, therapy, and assessment. Jose has also collaborated with various professionals and agencies in their roles.

Jose Del Toro, LMFT has a strong educational background in psychology and clinical psychology. Jose obtained their Master of Science (MS) degree in Clinical Psychology/MFT/LPCC from Notre Dame de Namur University, where they studied from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology-Specialist from Cornell College, where they studied from 2014 to 2015. Jose first started their academic journey in pre-medicine/pre-medical studies at Merritt College, where they attended from 2010 to 2014 before transferring.

In addition to their formal education, Jose has obtained several certifications and licenses. Jose is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, which they achieved in July 2020 through the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Jose also earned the credential of Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in June 2018, from the same institution.

Furthermore, Jose holds additional certifications in various areas. Jose obtained the certification for Psychological First Aid from The National Child Traumatic Stress Network in February 2023. In October 2022, they received the CPORT certification from CASOMB. Prior to that, in November 2021, they obtained the CANSA certification from the PRAED FOUNDATION. Jose has also obtained certifications in LS/CMI and STABLE-2007 from CASOMB in August 2021. These additional certifications demonstrate their commitment to expanding their knowledge and skills in the field of mental health.
