Megan Cheng

Megan Cheng is an experienced mental health professional currently serving as a Mental Health Peer Support Worker at the County of Santa Clara since July 2024. Previously, Megan held the position of Behavioral Health Associate at San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital from June 2023 to July 2024, providing vital therapeutic support to individuals with various mental health conditions. As Vice Chair of Student Rights and Equity and an Equity and Diversity Intern for the De Anza Student Government from October 2022 to June 2024, Megan promoted initiatives for a more equitable campus environment. Additionally, as President and Secretary of Active Minds at De Anza, Megan facilitated mental health advocacy and education within the community. Megan co-founded Project Plant Buddy to research the effects of plant care on college students' mental health and gained earlier experience as a Dental Assistant and Swim Instructor. Megan is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Welfare at UC Berkeley, building on previous education at De Anza College.
