Ashley Humes

Ashley Humes is an experienced Public Affairs/Public Information Officer with the County of Ventura since August 2020, responsible for managing comprehensive communications and outreach for multiple departments. Previously, Ashley held significant roles including Community & Social Services Director for the City of Thousand Oaks, where responsibilities included addressing homelessness and managing community grants. As Communications & Marketing Manager, Ashley was instrumental in establishing the city's first communications department. Early career experiences included serving as a Field Representative and Public Relations Manager for Ventura County Supervisor Kathy Long and as an intern for Congressman Brad Sherman. Ashley holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Administration from California Lutheran University and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from UCLA, while also actively mentoring young leaders as a Youth Mentor with the YMCA Model Legislature & Court Program since 2009.
