Brianna L. Bates

Brianna L. Bates, CPACC, MPA, JD, currently serves as Academic Compliance Counsel at Coursera, where responsibilities include addressing academic compliance concerns and engaging with content partners on accessibility issues. Previous roles at Coursera included Head of Academic Compliance and Senior Manager, contributing to the organization’s rapid growth in partnerships and learner registrations. Brianna has experience from the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as a Fellow, and as a Summer Associate at The State University of New York. Prior positions include Associate Director of Academic Program Review at New York University, Consultant at the UNFPA focused on family planning, and Accreditation Information and Accounts Specialist at the Distance Education Accrediting Commission. Brianna holds a JD from The George Washington University Law School and an MPA from New York University, complemented by degrees in biology and psychology from William & Mary.
