Sarim Zafar

Sarim Zafar is a Senior Software Engineer at Coursera since September 2020, previously holding the role of Software Engineer. Prior experience includes positions at Ritual.co as a Software Engineer, IBM as a Software Developer, and Uber as a Software Engineering Intern, with a focus on heuristics and AI. Sarim began career development as a Software Engineering Intern at Think Research, responsible for architectural redesign, and also worked as a Software Product Prototyper at Deloitte Canada. Sarim served as a Teaching Assistant for various engineering courses at the University of Waterloo while also contributing as a Software Developer for the Aerial Robotics Group. Earlier roles include Junior Solutions Consultant at BDO Canada and Software Consultant at Systemgroup Consulting Inc. Sarim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering with a Minor in Cognitive Science from the University of Waterloo and completed a High School Diploma in Mathematics and Computer Science from La Martinere College.
