Tom King

Tom King has a diverse work experience in the field of information security. Tom is currently serving as the Head of Cyber Security at Coventry Building Society since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Bibby Financial Services from 2014 to 2022, where they held the positions of Global Head of Information Security and Information Security Manager. At Bibby, they led the team responsible for delivering global cyber security capabilities and provided strategic direction in the field of cyber security. Before joining Bibby, they worked at Trinity Expert Systems as the Head of Governance & Information Security from 2013 to 2014, where they ensured appropriate levels of security for managed service clients across various sectors. Tom also worked at 3i Group plc from 2000 to 2013, holding roles such as Director - IT Applications and Security, Security Manager, and Senior technical and security consultant. In these roles, they played a key role in shaping IT strategy, governance, risk management, and security for the financial services firm. Furthermore, Tom has work experience as an IT Manager at Engine Developments Ltd. from 1996 to 2000, where they managed all IT functions and developed an innovative intranet system. Prior to that, they worked as a Systems Engineer at Cegelec Projects from 1991 to 1996 and contributed to EC-funded R&D projects. Tom King completed a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Computer Science from the University of Bristol, from 1988 to 1991. In addition, they have obtained several certifications in various fields, including Third Party Risk Management, Certified Ethical Hacker, Cyber Essentials Practitioner, Prince2, ITIL V3 Foundation, CISSP, GCIA, and GSEC, from different institutions and years.
