Professor Oonagh Smyth

Professor Oonagh Smyth currently serves as a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Health Advisory Board at Coventry University and as Chief Executive Officer at Skills for Care, the workforce development charity for adult social care in England. Prior to these roles, Oonagh held significant positions at Mencap, including Director of Governance and Strategy and Executive Director of Strategy and Influence, where involvement extended to co-chairing the Care and Support Alliance. Additional experience includes a Senior Consultant role at NCVO, Policy Manager at Westminster Equalities Partnership, and Equality Officer at the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland. Oonagh's educational credentials include a Master of Science in Executive Coaching from Hult Ashridge Executive Education, an LLM in Human Rights Law from Queen's University Belfast, and a degree in Law and Politics from Ulster University.
