Matt Jones

Matt Jones is the Chairman and President at COVESA, previously GENIVI Alliance. Matt has over two decades of experience in the tech industry, with a focus on embedded and cloud-connected systems.

Jones began their career at Wind River in March 2019 as the Corporate Vice President of Global Engineering. In this role, they led the transformation of the global engineering teams, focusing on delivery, CI/CD development philosophy, and agile culture. Under their leadership, the engineering teams developed and integrated proprietary and open source systems for embedded and cloud-connected, safety-certified solutions.

In October 2021, Jones was appointed as the Chairman and President of COVESA. In this role, they are responsible for leading the organization in its mission to promote open collaboration and innovation in connected vehicles and services.

Matt Jones has a Master of Engineering degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering with Management from the University of Birmingham. Matt also has a certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) in Project Management Professional (PMP). Additionally, they are certified by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) as a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE) and by the Engineering Council (ECUK) as a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Finally, they are a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).
