Roy Cheung has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Roy began their career as a Senior Research Executive at Synovate Healthcare, where they played a crucial role in setting up the company's healthcare research arm and successfully doubling sales revenue. Roy then moved on to IMS Health, where they held various roles, including Consultant, Senior Consultant, and Engagement Manager, leading consulting and market research projects in the life science industry in China.

In 2008, Roy worked as a Summer Associate at Roland Berger, contributing to a market entry strategic consulting project for a multinational chemical company. Roy then joined Instar as a Research Director, before transitioning to Baxter International Inc. as a Senior Manager. At Baxter, they established the organization's capabilities for "In China, for China" initiatives and led several cross-functional teams in new product launch projects.

Currently, Roy is employed at Covestro, where they have held two roles. As the Global Leader of Business Model Innovation, they identified and implemented new business models, tools, and processes to drive resilient growth opportunities. In their current role as the Global Head of Sustainability Solutions, Engineering Plastics, they lead a cross-geographic team and is responsible for developing and implementing the business entity's sustainability strategy, achieving key achievements such as launching the world's first climate-neutral polycarbonate material and establishing several closed-loop recycling programs.

Roy Cheung has a diverse education history. Roy earned their Bachelor's degree in Translation Studies from The University of Hong Kong, where they studied from 1999 to 2002. Later, in 2007, they attended the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), where they pursued their MBA in General Management, completing it in 2009. During their time at CEIBS, they had the opportunity to spend a year as an MBA Exchange Student at IESE Business School in 2008, focusing on Management studies.

In addition to their formal education, Roy Cheung has also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they became a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) after completing the certification program offered by Scrum Alliance. Roy further expanded their expertise by attending courses on Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies at Cambridge Judge Business School, obtaining the certification in August 2021. Most recently, in September 2022, they completed a course on Impact Management and Measurement for the SDGs, offered by Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business.
