Waleed Sarwar

Waleed Sarwar has a diverse range of work experience in the financial services industry. Waleed began their career as a Senior Risk Analyst in the CRO function at Prudential Plc, where they worked from 2009 to 2010. Waleed then joined PwC Consulting as a Manager in Financial Services (Risk) in 2011, followed by a role at Legal & General as a Solvency II Subject Matter Expert, focusing on the balance sheet and own funds position.

In 2012, Waleed moved to AIG, where they served as a Solvency II SME for Pillar III reporting. Waleed was involved in preparing the finance team for Solvency II reporting, ensuring the clear identification of data sources and educating teams on their roles and responsibilities.

Waleed then joined the Bank of England as a Technical Specialist in Insurance Policy. During their time at the Bank of England, they played a crucial role in developing guidelines and rules related to group solvency calculation, group governance/ORSA, and group reporting. Waleed also provided training to supervisors and other teams on the topic of groups.

In 2014, Waleed joined Kosha Consulting as an Associate Director, leading the UK financial services, risk, and regulatory practice with a focus on Solvency II implementation. Waleed helped clients demonstrate compliance with prudential regulation prior to the go-live date.

Waleed's experience also includes participating in the InsurTech Cohort 2016 at Startupbootcamp, serving as a Guest Lecturer on Risk Management at UCL, being a Co-founder and Co-host of RegNut, and currently, they hold the position of CEO at CoVi Analytics.

Waleed Sarwar pursued their undergraduate education from 2001 to 2005 at Imperial College London. During this time, they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree with a specialization in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
