Jenny Goodchild has a diverse and extensive work experience in software engineering and development. Jenny started their career as a Developer for The Bexter Spice Co, where they played a key role in the technical and commercial development of an ecommerce retail business. Jenny then worked as a Freelance Web Developer, handling various projects such as developing a fully featured Magento PHP ecommerce store and creating small business websites with custom features.

Jenny's career progressed as they took a role as a Web Specialist - eCommerce at Flight Centre and later joined International Education Services Ltd as a Senior Web Developer. In these roles, they gained experience in data modeling, scripting, and Ruby on Rails web application development. Jenny also worked on Angular.js and Rails API development, CSV data scripting, and PDF and CSV export and report generation.

Jenny continued to expand their skills and knowledge as a Senior Software Engineer at The University of Queensland, where they were involved in data and software design and development. Jenny utilized PHP Symfony 2, Doctrine, Backbone.js, and Bootstrap for development, along with SOAP webservice integrations and Excel and CSV data migrations and scripting. Jenny also worked on AWS Elastic Beanstalk deployment with Oracle 12c databases.

In their subsequent roles as a Senior Software Developer at NRNS Software and as a Senior Software Engineer at eReserve, Jenny focused on Ruby on Rails full stack development and support of complex systems. Jenny worked within cross-functional teams and followed agile methodologies to deliver new features and enhancements. Their responsibilities included ActiveRecord models and migrations, Ruby rake tasks and scripting, AWS S3 uploads, and multiple external API integrations.

Jenny also has experience in the Aged Care and NDIS sector as a Software Engineer at Five Good Friends, where they worked on a range of features and enhancements. Their role involved collaborative development with product managers, designers, and developers in cross-functional teams.

Currently, Jenny is working as a Software Engineer at Covidence.org, where they continue to contribute their skills and expertise to the field.

Jenny Goodchild completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with honors (2i) from Middlesex University, where they studied from 1993 to 1996. Prior to their university education, they attended Saffron Walden County High School from 1983 to 1990.

In addition to their formal education, Jenny obtained certifications in various programming languages and technologies including Javascript, MySQL and SQL, PHP, Python, and Ruby on Rails from TestDome in June 2019.
