Maria Cuevas

Maria Cuevas is an experienced science educator currently teaching AP Physics 1 and Pre-AP Chemistry at Covina-Valley Unified School District since August 2023. With a strong background in mentoring, Maria has served as a Partner Teacher at the University of California, Los Angeles, and held the role of Teacher Mentor during the Hybrid Summer Research Connection program at Caltech. Previous positions include teaching high school Chemistry, Physics, and serving as a course lead at Centinela Valley Union High School District. Maria's educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Single Subject Science and a Bachelor of Science in Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of Southern California, along with a Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment Certificate from UCLA.
