Tara Shirley Zwaan

Tara Shirley Zwaan currently serves as the Communications Manager for Cowichan Tribes since May 2022, bringing extensive experience in communications and event management. Previously, Tara held various positions at the Business Council of British Columbia from February 2015 to August 2020, including Director of Events and Member Communications and Manager of Communications and Events. Prior roles in the BC Provincial Government spanned from July 2005 to February 2015, featuring positions such as Events Coordinator for Government Communications and Public Engagement and Executive Coordinator in the Office of the Premier. Earlier experience includes an internship with the B.C. Legislative Internship Program from January to June 2004. Tara earned a Master of Arts in Professional Communication from Royal Roads University between 2020 and 2022 and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Political Science from The University of British Columbia from 2001 to 2004.
