John Thompson

John Thompson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in risk management and military operations. Currently serving as the Director of Risk Management at Cox Enterprises since August 2017, Thompson had a distinguished 30-year career in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Colonel in May 2017. Key roles included Defense Coordinating Officer for FEMA Region IV, Chief of Staff for the 3rd Infantry Division, and Commander of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Thompson’s educational background includes a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from the University of North Georgia.
