Ian Swinton has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over 20 years. Ian has held various roles in the construction industry and has also worked as a professional photographer and teaching assistant.
Ian's most recent position was as the Vice President of Construction at CP Build Enterprises, LLC, where they have been since 2016.
Prior to that, Ian worked at Big-D Construction from 2006 to 2016. During their time there, they held several roles including Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Site Manager/Superintendent. Ian managed teams on projects ranging from $10.5M to $75M+ in the Intermountain West, and was responsible for personnel management and coordinating all aspects of construction.
Before joining Big-D Construction, Ian worked at Standard Builders Supply, Inc., where they were an Estimator & Truss Designer from 2005 to 2006. Ian designed computer programs to track and report company progress and performed detailed quantity lumber take-offs for multi-million dollar projects.
Ian also gained experience in project engineering and supervision at M-13 Construction and Layton Construction in 2005, where they supervised subcontractors, implemented new construction techniques, and managed project schedules.
In addition to their construction experience, Ian worked as a professional photographer under their own company, Swinton Photography LLC, from 2004 to 2011.
Ian's earlier experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant at Brigham Young University in 2006, where they taught and mentored students in construction management. Ian also worked as a Resident Assistant at Brigham Young University from 2004 to 2005, where they were responsible for the personal development and supervision of on-campus residents.
Prior to their professional career, Ian served as a Volunteer Representative for the Australia Melbourne West Mission from 2002 to 2004. In this role, they trained and supervised fellow volunteers and developed leadership and communication skills. Before that, they worked as a Carpenter Helper and Laborer (Concrete) at Layton Construction in 2001 and 2001.

Ian Swinton obtained their MBA in Business Administration from the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business, completing their studies from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business from Brigham Young University, attending from 2001 to 2007. Before their university education, Ian attended Waterford School from 1989 to 2001, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
