Byron Ofner CPA, CA, CIA, CGAP is a seasoned professional in the field of accounting and auditing, currently serving as a Principal (Engagement Leader) at the Office of the Auditor General of Alberta since June 2021, where responsibilities include leading performance audits and managing full audit processes. In addition, Byron is actively involved in education as a Session Leader for the CPA Western School of Business and a Professional Education Program Facilitator with CPA Canada, guiding students through their CPA journey. With a rich background that includes leadership roles at the AGLC, such as Director of Strategic Planning and Senior Risk Officer, as well as experience in forensic accounting at Deloitte, Byron has developed extensive expertise in both internal and external audits. Complementing practical experience, Byron holds multiple certifications, including CPA and CGAP, and has a strong educational foundation with a B.Comm in Accounting from the University of Alberta.
