Sabine Jessen

Sabine Jessen is a highly experienced professional in marine conservation and strategic advising, currently serving as Senior Strategic Advisor for the National Ocean Program at the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) since March 2023. Prior to this role, Sabine held the position of Executive Director at IMPAC5 and was also the Executive Director of the IMPAC5 Secretariat at Fisheries and Oceans Canada from July 2019 to April 2023. Sabine's extensive tenure at CPAWS spanned over two decades, beginning in 1995 as Marine Conservation Director and culminating as National Director for the Ocean Program. Sabine also has academic credentials, holding a Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Waterloo and pursuing doctoral studies at Simon Fraser University while being a Doctoral Fellow at the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions. Additionally, Sabine was an Australian Endeavour Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide.
