Jim Thren

Jim Thren has extensive work experience in the field of IT and CAD operations. Jim started their career as a Civil Engineering Draftsman in 1985 and later became a Civil Engineering Designer. In 1990, they transitioned to a role as a Computer Aided Design Drafter, where they used proprietary CAD software and created automation tools. From 1992 to 2000, they served as a CAD Manager and Network Administrator, overseeing the migration to AutoCAD/Land Development Desktop and implementing CAD standards to optimize efficiency. In 2000, they became the Director of IT at Charles P. Johnson & Associates, Inc., responsible for managing computer and CAD system operations for multiple offices. Jim played a technical lead role in implementing accounting systems and creating a secure WAN network. In 2017, they were promoted to Vice President/ Director of IT, working closely with executive management to improve operational efficiency through automated system processes. In 1993, they also founded their own company, jTech Concepts, Inc., where they served as the Owner/President.

Jim Thren began their education in 1986 at Carroll Community College, where they studied CAD/CADD Drafting and/or Design Technology/Technician. Jim attended Carroll Community College until 1988. In 1990, they enrolled in the Community College of Baltimore County and pursued a degree in Computer Programming. Jim studied there until 1992. In 1992, Jim Thren returned to the Community College of Baltimore County to study Information Technology and remained there until 1994. From 1994 to 1996, they pursued further education in Computer Science at the Community College of Baltimore County.
