Jeff Owen has a extensive work experience in the railway industry. Jeff started their career at BNSF Railway in 1999, where they served as an Engineer of Maintenance Planning, responsible for managing a $900M capital maintenance budget. From 2001 to 2005, they worked as an Assistant Director of Maintenance Production, leading a team responsible for safety, quality, and production. From 2005 to 2011, they held various roles at BNSF Railway, including General Director Maintenance and Division Engineer. In these positions, they led teams responsible for track, signal, and structure maintenance, achieving best safety records and implementing successful safety programs. In 2012, they worked as Director of Projects & Production at RailAmerica. From 2013 to 2017, they held the positions of AVP Engineering and Vice President of Engineering at Genesee & Wyoming Inc. Since 2017, they have been working at Canadian Pacific Railway as an Asst Chief Engineer.
Jeff Owen received their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University from 1985 to 1990. Prior to that, they attended D.C. Everest from 1982 to 1985, although no degree or field of study is specified for this period.
