Arif Hameed

Arif Hameed has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Arif currently holds the position of Chief Information Security Officer at C&R Software since March 2023. Prior to this, Arif worked as a Socio (Member) at The CISO Society starting from November 2022. Arif also served as the Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Munich Re New Ventures from October 2021 to August 2022. Before joining Munich Re, Arif worked as the Senior Director, Client Cybersecurity at Equifax from May 2018 to October 2021. Arif also held various roles at TD, starting as a member of Third-Party Cyber Risk Management from September 2016 to May 2018, and then as part of the Business Technology Risk Management/Business Information Security Office from February 2012 to September 2016. Additionally, Arif gained experience in IT controls and operational risk at RBC Capital Markets from January 2011 to January 2012, and in information technology audit at RBC from November 2007 to December 2010. Arif began their career in software quality assurance at Maritz Canada from January 2005 to November 2007, and earlier at Belzberg Technologies from December 2000 to December 2004.

Arif Hameed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from York University. Arif has also taken project management courses at Ryerson University. Furthermore, Arif has received training in Security Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership from the SANS Technology Institute, and Information Security Controls for Cloud Services from the BSI Training Academy.

In addition to their educational background, Arif has obtained several certifications. These include the Associate Business Continuity Professional certification from DRI International, the Certified Information Systems Auditor certification from ISACA, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification from (ISC)², the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control certification from ISACA, the GIAC Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership certification from GIAC Certifications, the ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certification from BSI, and the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from EXIN.
