Fons Van Geelen

Fons Van Geelen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Fons began their career in 2001 at Parexel, a global contract research organization, where they provided IT management support for offices in the Benelux and Scandinavia. From 2006 to 2007, Fons worked as an IT consultant at DUVAK Automatisering BV, where they set up a service desk to support multiple offices and vessels of AllSeas, an offshore pipeline and subsea construction company.

In 2007, Fons joined Overtoom as an Information Technology Manager, responsible for merging five IT teams across three countries into a single team. Fons demonstrated strong people management skills to facilitate the desired changes. Following this role, Fons worked at Mirabeau, the largest digital marketing and customer experience agency in the Netherlands, as the Vice President of Information Technology. Fons oversaw IT operations for over 350 users across multiple offices, including remote locations in Guangzhou and Paris.

In 2016, Fons joined ON2IT BV as the Cloud Business Unit Manager, where they led the business unit focused on cloud security. Fons then moved on to Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, a cancer research and treatment facility, as an Information Technology Management Consultant in 2017. During their time there, Fons led various IT projects, including data center migration, infrastructure security, and desktop upgrades.

Fons's next role in 2018 was at Knab, a subsidiary of Aegon bank, as an Information Technology Management Consultant and Program Manager. Fons was involved in various projects, such as the implementation of a new internal data center, security network, infrastructure, and workspace, as well as negotiating contracts with suppliers and implementing O365.

In 2019, Fons joined Backbase, a fintech company, as the Vice President of IT Operations and IT Director. Fons managed IT operations for clients such as Credit Union, ING, ABNAmro, Deutsche Bank, and HSBC. Fons left Backbase in 2020 and later joined JustCloudIT as an IT Program Management Consultant and IT Director, providing consulting services in IT program management.

Most recently, Fons Van Geelen became the Manager of Global Information Technology at C&R Software in 2021.

Throughout their career, Fons has demonstrated expertise in IT management, program management, and consulting. Fons has worked with various industries, including healthcare, finance, and digital marketing, and has experience leading projects, managing teams, and implementing IT solutions.

Fons Van Geelen completed their Bachelor's degree in Bedrijfskundige Informatica at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2004 to 2007. In 2008 to 2009, they attended de Baak where they pursued a Management Compact program. Prior to that, Fons attended Reigersbos from 1985 to 1991 and earned their VWO degree. Additionally, they have participated in an AWS Summit, although the dates and details of their involvement are unknown.
