Joseph Folger

Executive Coach

Joseph Folger has over two decades of experience working as a consultant and executive coach for organizations in the public and private sectors, including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Standard & Poor’s, Merrill Lynch, IBM, Wyeth, General Electric Capital, McDonald's Corp, Shared Medical Systems, US Department of Education, and the US Postal Service. His responsibilities have included executive coaching, team development, mediation, facilitation, strategic planning, and communication skills training. His training programs include: Crafting Your Message, Coaching for Effective Performance, Speaking with Confidence, and Strategic Communication.

Dr. Folger is a Full Professor of Adult and Organizational Development at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences from the University of Wisconsin and has published extensively, including two award-winning books: Working Through Conflict: Strategies for Relationships, Groups, and Organizations (6th edition), and The Promise of Mediation which has been translated into seven languages.

Joseph Folger is a leader in the field of mediation and conflict resolution where he works as a researcher, program developer, and trainer. He is the co-founder of the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation and has served as program director for the National Conference on Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution. His consulting services in mediation and conflict resolution have led to invitations to deliver keynote presentations at conferences in Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Ireland, Spain, and the United States.
