Matt Schaefer has had a diverse range of work experiences in various companies. Matt started their career at Archer Daniels Midland in 2003, where they worked in business development and research and development. In 2005, they moved to Kraft Foods as a Senior Scientist in product development. Matt then joined Bloomin' Brands, Inc. in 2010, where they held several leadership roles related to quality assurance, supply chain, and research and development. In 2019, Schaefer joined Cracker Barrel as the Senior Director of Operations Strategy and Innovation, and later took on roles in off-premise growth channels, supply chain, and ultimately became the Vice President of Business Model Innovation and Margin Transformation. Overall, Schaefer has a strong background in strategy, innovation, and operations within the food industry.

Matt Schaefer earned a Bachelor's degree in Food Science from Purdue University in 1999-2003. Matt then pursued a Master of Science degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from Northwestern University from 2006 to 2009. Prior to college, they attended Heritage Hills High School in Lincoln City, IN.
