Nikhil Utane

Nikhil Utane has extensive experience in the engineering field. Nikhil is currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Cradlepoint since July 2023. Prior to this role, they worked at CommScope, where they held the positions of Director of Engineering from April 2022 to June 2023, and Senior Engineering Manager from May 2020 to April 2022.

From July 2019 to May 2020, Nikhil took a mid-career break to upskill and build machine learning apps as the Founder & Machine Learning Practitioner at Ryzing Star. During this time, they developed apps like BOT Baby and BERT vs ULMFiT Sentiment Classifier.

Previously, Nikhil worked at CommScope (via acquisition of Airvana) as a Senior Engineering Manager from September 2016 to July 2019. Nikhil also worked at Airvana as a Consulting Engineer from October 2013 to September 2016, and as a Principal Engineer from August 2008 to November 2011.

Prior to their roles at Airvana, Nikhil worked at Cisco Systems as a Technical Leader from November 2011 to October 2013. Nikhil started their career at Zensar Technologies as a Consultant from July 2000 to October 2004 and later worked at Nevis Networks as a Senior Software Engineer from 2004 to 2007. Nikhil also briefly worked as a Senior Consultant at Credit Suisse from August 2007 to August 2008.

Nikhil Utane completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, from 1996 to 2000.
