Neil Akers, MA, NCC, LPC, has extensive experience in the mental health field, currently serving as an Outpatient Therapist at Cranberry Psychological Center since March 2017. Previously, Neil worked as an Adult Outpatient Therapist at Pittsburgh Mercy from October 2016 to February 2018, and held dual roles as a School Based Outpatient Therapist and Family Based Therapist at Family Services of Western Pennsylvania from March 2013 to October 2016. Neil began the career in mental health at Lakeshore Community Services, where roles included Substitute Aide and Program Specialist from March 2007 to February 2013, and also worked as a Residential Assistant at Barber National Institute between May 2005 and March 2007. Neil earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from PennWest Edinboro in 2012, following a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the same institution in 2006.
