Andrea Thorne has an extensive career in music education and performance, serving as a Cello Instructor at Cranbrook Educational Community since September 1997 and as a cellist with the Birmingham Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra since September 1996. In addition to these roles, Andrea has maintained a private studio, Thorne Cello Studio, since 1980. Previous teaching experience includes a position as a Cello teacher at the Detroit Community Music School/Center for Creative Studies from 1985 to 1990. Performance experience also includes being a cellist with Trio a la mode from 1979 to 1984. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Lawrence University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
