Ann Lemke

Ann Lemke is an accomplished oboe instructor and performer with extensive experience in both educational and professional settings. Currently serving as the Oboe Instructor at Cranbrook Educational Community and Ann Lemke Oboe Studio since 2000, Ann has also held the position of Principal Oboist with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra and the International Symphony Orchestra since 2001 and December 2009, respectively. Ann has participated in notable performances, including the US and Canadian premieres of Marie Clemence de Grandval's Oboe Concerto in May 2012. As a freelance musician, Ann has collaborated with various choral groups, churches, and synagogues, and has contributed as a studio recording artist. Additionally, Ann served as an Adjunct Professor at Oakland University from 2000 to 2006, teaching German, Music, and Women's Studies. Ann's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature with a focus on Music and German Literature from Indiana University Bloomington, as well as multiple degrees in music and literature from prestigious institutions.
