Michael Russell

Michael Russell, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CDPSE, ITIL has extensive experience in the field of IT security and risk management. Michael has held various roles in different organizations where they have demonstrated their expertise in developing, implementing, and monitoring information security programs.

From 2022, Michael has been serving as the Head of IT Security at Crane Worldwide Logistics. In this role, they are responsible for managing the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) for on-premises and cloud-hosted systems. Michael has also led the deployment of Microsoft 365 security and compliance Center and established security goals and strategies.

Prior to their current position, from 2020 to 2022, Michael worked as the Senior Director of IT Security at Spok. Here, they were responsible for all aspects of information security related to healthcare communication systems. Michael collaborated in establishing security goals and strategies and managed the creation of a governance, risk, and compliance program.

Before Spok, from 2015 to 2020, Michael served as a CISO (Consultant) at State Security, where they played various roles, including CISO, Security Architect, TPRM Manager, and Risk Manager. Michael worked on developing and implementing comprehensive enterprise information security programs for different clients in various industries.

In 2015, Michael had a role as a Security Solutions Architect (Consultant) at Rackspace Technology. Michael was responsible for selecting and integrating systems supporting FedRAMP Compliant Infrastructure and played a key role in creating a strategic corporate security program.

Previously, from 2014 to 2015, Michael worked as a Cyber Security and Risk Consultant at Sutter Health, where they provided expertise in cybersecurity and risk management.

Michael began their career at Dell in 2003, where they worked as an IT Governance and Compliance Program Manager. Michael managed compliance activities, led cross-functional teams, conducted risk assessments, and coordinated audit and remediation activities.
