Pietro Ferrara has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and consulting sectors. Pietro most recently worked as a Senior Vice President at Craneware, where they expanded their value cycle offerings. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), including Vice President of Strategic Cost Management and Director of Payor-Provider Programs. Pietro was responsible for implementing a groundbreaking cost management solution using activity-based costing methodology. Earlier in their career, Pietro worked at UPMC International and ISMETT, where they held roles such as Director of FP&A and Special Projects and Director of Medical Record and Coding. Pietro also played a key role in the startup phase of the Organ Transplant Center at ISMETT, designing and implementing supply chain processes. Before their time at UPMC, Pietro worked as a Senior Supply Chain Consultant at Ernst & Young Consultants, where they worked on various cost management and supply chain projects. Pietro began their career as a Research Assistant at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, conducting studies on international navigational laws.
Pietro Ferrara pursued their education in a chronological manner. In 1991, they enrolled at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Business/Managerial Economics, finishing in 1995. Following this, in 1995, they continued their studies at the same institution and obtained another Master's Degree in Business/Managerial Economics, completing it in 1997.
Years later, they attended the Public Management School in Italy from 2005 to 2006, where they achieved a Master's Degree in Management of Healthcare Services. Subsequently, in 2012 and 2013, Pietro enrolled in the Data Analytics Certificate Program at Carnegie Mellon University - Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, demonstrating their commitment to expanding their knowledge in this field.
