Senior Electrical Systems Design Engineer at Cranfield Aerospace

Daniel Wilding has a long and varied work experience. Daniel began their career in 1998 as an Aircraft Engineering Technician/Supervisor with the Royal Air Force, leading and overseeing a team of aircraft engineers in a variety of maintenance and rectification tasks. In 2011, they took on a role as a Community Phlebotomist with the National Health Service, and also as a Test Engineer with Multimatic Technical Centre Europe, working closely with designers to deliver a range of bespoke motorsport systems and services. In 2012, they became a Wind Turbine Technician with Siemens Wind Power, responsible for a full range of maintenance tasks on 3.6 MW offshore wind turbines around the UK. In 2014, they took on the role of Hybrid Systems Technician with Williams Advanced Engineering. In 2016, they became an Electrical Engineer with RACE - UKAEA, Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, where they were responsible for Electrical Systems Design. In 2017, they became a Systems Integrations Engineer with ARRIVAL LTD, and in 2019 they began their current role as a Senior Electrical Systems Design Engineer with Cranfield Aerospace Solutions.

Daniel Wilding completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Astrophysics from The Open University in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a BTEC in Engineering from DCAE Cosford in 2001.
