Andy Wong

Director of Product Development at crankbrothers

Andy Wong has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Andy began their career as a Research Engineer at the University of British Columbia in 1987. After that, they worked as a Product Engineer at Rocky Mountain Bicycles from 1991 to 1993. Andy then served as the Product Development Manager at onZa Bicycle Components from 1994 to 1996. Following this, Andy joined Easton Sports as the Lead Engineer for Bicycle Products until 1998.

Andy then transitioned to Black & Decker, where they held various positions. From 1998 to 2001, they worked as an Advanced Development Engineer at Price Pfister. Later, they became the Manager of Advanced Processes Engineering, overseeing the Materials and Processes team and managing the Product Test facilities. Andy continued their career at Stanley Black & Decker, where they served as the Principal Engineer from 2009 to 2011, focusing on materials, finishes, and process technologies for Door Hardware products.

In 2011, Andy joined FOX Racing Shox as the Senior Mechanical Engineer. Andy was quickly promoted to the role of Engineering Manager, responsible for Sustaining and Value Engineering. After leaving FOX Racing Shox in 2012, they worked as a Consulting Engineer at AWE Consulting Engineering.

Andy's most recent role is as the Director of Product Development at crank brothers, inc, where they have been since 2014. Overall, Andy has a diverse background in engineering, specifically in the bicycle industry, with experience in product development, project management, and materials engineering.

Andy Wong earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 1982 to 1987. In February 1991, they obtained a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification from APEGBC.
