Hernan Cianfagna

Hernan Cianfagna has a long and varied work experience. Hernan began their career in 2007 as a Product Lead and a SQL Expert Analyst for Hewlett Packard. In 2009, they became a Database Administrator for Endava, where they worked on the database infrastructure behind high-profile web sites. In 2010, they were a Systems Administrator for the OECD, where they were responsible for the provisioning and maintenance of collaboration, web hosting, database, and identity management systems. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Database Administrator and a Data Operations Technical Lead for Wonga.com. In 2016, they became a Principal Engineer and a Senior Engineer (Data Security Solutions) for Dell. In 2020, they were an Advanced MS SQL Server Specialist and a SQL Server DBA for The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as well as a Software Tester for uTest. Currently, they are a Senior Solutions Engineer for Crate.io, where they are working on CrateDB, a real-time analytics database solution.

Hernan Cianfagna has a diverse educational background. Hernan completed a Master of Science in Software Engineering at the University of Oxford from 2008 to 2012. Before that, they obtained a Level 6 Professional Graduate Diploma in Information Technology from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2007, as well as a Level 4 Certificate in Information Technology from the same institution. Hernan also studied Informatics Engineering at Sapienza Università di Roma from 2003 to 2007 and obtained a Ragioniere perito commerciale e programmatore from Paolini-Cassiano Technical Institute (Imola - Italy) in 2002-2003. In 1997-2001, they studied Computing at Hogar Naval Stella Maris (Buenos Aires).
