Arnold Laisser

Arnold Laisser is a highly experienced legal professional currently serving as the Focal Point for ICTR Residual Issues at the Association of Defence Counsel practicing before the International Courts and Tribunals since January 2023, and as Duty Counsel at the United Nations Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals since September 2018. Laisser also holds the position of Accredited Legal Counsel for the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights since August 2017 and works as External Legal Counsel for CRDB Bank Plc since January 2015, where responsibilities include drafting legal documents, attending court sessions, and negotiating settlements. As Lead Partner at Vigilance and Aura Attorneys since 2011, Laisser oversees business operations and staff supervision. Previously, Laisser served as Legal Director for the Association for Law and Advocacy for Pastoralists from 2008 to 2011, managing legal strategies for the organization. Currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Comparative Law at the University of Cape Town, Laisser holds multiple advanced degrees in law and related fields, demonstrating a strong academic background alongside extensive practical experience.
