Guillaume Markwalder is an Industrial & Spatial Designer with experience in product design, experience design, graphic design, innovation consulting, and more. Guillaume began their career in 2015 as an Industrial Design Intern at Carrefour, where they were responsible for rapid concept development including sketching, CAD, renderings and creation of deliverables for internal team. In 2016, they joined eliumstudio as an Industrial Design Intern, where they supported the team in products concept development and worked for different companies focused on Office Furnitures, Home Furnitures, Urban Furnitures, Packaging and Consumer Electronic Goods. That same year, they also acted as a Junior Industrial Designer at Fuseproject, supporting the ID Team in a wide range of projects like Wearables, Consumer Electronic Goods, VR Experience, Luxury Goods, Packaging, etc. In 2019, Guillaume founded their own design and innovation consultancy, Markwalder Design Office, in Lausanne, Switzerland. Guillaume also worked as an Industrial Designer at CREAL, a scale-up developing a near-eye light-field display technology for Virtual and Mixed Reality headsets and smart glasses bringing depth immersion in 3D images. Currently, Guillaume is an Industrial & Spatial Designer at Stojan Voumard, a multidisciplinary design studio and creative consultancy accompanying brands and organisations in projects of different scales.

Guillaume Markwalder obtained their Baccalauréat from Gymnase Auguste Piccard in Visual Arts and Geography from 2007 to 2010. Guillaume then attended Ceruleum Visual Arts School and received a Foundation degree in Visual Arts and Design in 2010-2011. In 2011-2015, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts HES-SO in Industrial and Product Design from ECAL - Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne. In 2014, they also attended the Summer Academy at the National University of Singapore in Industrial and Product Design. In 2018, they attended the Summer Academy at ShanghaiTech University in Design Thinking. Finally, in 2017-2019, they obtained a Master of Science HES-SO - Integrated Innovation for Product and Business Development - Innokick in Multidisciplinarity from HES-SO Haute école spécialisée de Suisse occidentale.
