Alejandra Carles-Tolra is a Lecturer in Photography at the University of Portsmouth since February 2022 and a Visiting Lecturer at Northeastern University. Since October 2015, Alejandra has served as a Participatory Photography Facilitator for the Helen Bamber Foundation, leading a photography group for asylum seekers and refugees. Additionally, Alejandra is an Artist/Facilitator with Create (Arts) Ltd, focusing on engaging disadvantaged communities through the arts. As a self-employed Professional Photographer since 2012, Alejandra has collaborated with notable organizations such as the Futbol Club Barcelona Foundation and Unicef, with published work featured in CNN, Vice, and The Independent. Alejandra holds an MFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and dual Bachelor's degrees in Sociology from Universitat de Barcelona.
