CreateAthon
Peyton Rowe currently serves as the Director of the Robertson School of Media and Culture at Virginia Commonwealth University and is also a Professor, having previously held the title of Interim Director. Rowe has extensive experience with CreateAthon, serving as Chief Evangelist and Board Member since 2004, as well as directing CreateAthon@VCU from 2007 to 2021 and CreateAthon onCampus from 2007 to 2011. Prior academic roles include Associate Professor at both the Robertson School of Media and Culture and the University of South Carolina, where Rowe began teaching Graphic Design and earned tenure. Educational qualifications include an MFA in Design & Visual Communication and a BA in Fine and Studio Arts, both from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia respectively.

CreateAthon
CreateAthon is a 24-hour, work-around the clock creative blitz during which marketing, advertising and public relations firms provide nonprofit marketing services on a pro bono basis. Since the program’s creation by Riggs Partners in 1998, 80 agencies have participated in the CreateAthon network, holding CreateAthon events in their respective markets. It’s an effort that has impacted more than 1,275 non-profit organizations, delivering 3,000 projects valued at more than $15 million.
