Austin Blue

Atlanta Artist at Creative Loafing

Austin Blue was born on July 16, 1991 in San Francisco. He attended City College of San Francisco for Illustration and Photography for a brief period before moving to Atlanta. He’s been drawing for most of his life and has been a self taught painter for the last 3 years, currently employed as a sign painter for Trader Joes. He has exhibited his work for Forward Warrior,Lyft, Imaginary Millions, and Facet Gallery to name a few.

His public art can be seen around Decatur, Reynoldstown, Cabbagetown, South Atlanta, and Five Points. His work is heavily influenced by the concepts of color, contrast, space, and the many ways subjects can interact with each other aesthetically. Humans, animals, and geometric shapes are recurring themes in his work.
