Andy Marlette is a seasoned comic strip creator and nationally syndicated political cartoonist currently working with Creators Syndicate since January 2021, where Marlette produces the comic strip "Shrimp and Grits." Previous experience includes serving as an editorial cartoonist and feature artist for The Independent Florida Alligator from January 2003 to January 2006 and as an editorial cartoonist and columnist at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK from September 2007 to September 2022. Additionally, Marlette held the position of head coach for freshman basketball at Seminole County Public Schools from August 2001 to February 2002. Marlette holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical and Ancient Studies from the University of Florida.
