Marcos Athanasoulis

Marcos Athanasoulis has extensive experience in the technology and healthcare sectors. Marcos started their career at HealthCentral, where they played a crucial role in the company's growth from a startup to a large consumer health portal with millions of monthly visitors. Marcos then joined RelayHealth as the Vice President of Product Development, where they led the development of the "Web Visit" online doctor-patient communication platform. Marcos also worked at Evalumetrix, where they served as the Chief Technology Officer and contributed to the development of the Healia search engine. Additionally, Marcos served as the Director of Information Technology at Harvard Medical School and was responsible for providing infrastructure for life and medical sciences discovery protocols. Marcos later co-founded Healthy Communities Institute and served as the Chief Technology Officer, overseeing product development and IT operations. The company was acquired by Xerox in 2015. Marcos then joined Conduent as the Vice President of Information Technology for Conduent Community Health Services. In this role, they were responsible for product development and technical strategy. Marcos Athanasoulis completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Social Issues of Technology from the University of California, Berkeley, between 1985 and 1990. Marcos then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree specializing in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the same university from 1992 to 1994. Afterward, Marcos continued their education at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a Doctor of Public Health (Dr.PH) degree in Health Informatics.
