Joe Proctor

Joe Proctor is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in credit risk management and corporate credit approvals. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Credit Benchmark since March 2024, Proctor previously held the position of Managing Director and Global Head of Corporate Credit Approvals & Industry Risk Management at HSBC from 2015 to 2023. This role followed a successful tenure as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Credit Risk (Europe), where Proctor sanctioned significant new lending and renewals. Proctor's earlier experience includes serving as Chief Credit Officer at Goldman Sachs International Bank from 2008, and as a Board Trustee and International Council Member at Earthwatch Institute from 2013 to 2016. Proctor's career began at Citibank as a Management Associate. Educational credentials include an MBA in Finance and International Business from Columbia Business School and a BA (Honors) in International Relations from Brown University.
