Nitin Shantharam

Nitin Shantharam has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Nitin is currently the Director II of Engineering at Credit Karma, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Engineering at Credit Karma from June 2019 to September 2021.

Before joining Credit Karma, Nitin worked at Walmart as the Director Of Engineering for a short period from March 2019 to June 2019. Nitin led mobile and web engineering teams across Art.com and Hayneedle.

Nitin's experience also includes working as the Director Of Engineering at Art.com from March 2017 to March 2019, where they led the search and personalization teams to enhance user experience and launch new features.

Nitin co-founded Swapbox in January 2012 and served as the Co-Founder & CTO until March 2017 when the company was acquired by SDBIC. At Swapbox, they built and maintained the package delivery infrastructure, raised funding from notable investors, and oversaw the company's overall operations.

Nitin began their career at Google as a Software Engineer, where they implemented feed recommendations for all Google users. Nitin then joined PeopleJar as the CTO from February 2008 to February 2010, where they designed the search platform and led the engineering team.

In addition, Nitin worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Bidfire, where they designed and developed a new platform for Bidfire's auction product and maintained an existing platform for real-time auctioning of products.

Before joining Credit Karma, Walmart, Art.com, Swapbox, Google, PeopleJar, and Bidfire, Nitin worked briefly at Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer, focusing on the Xbox Media Platform R&D and developing applications for YouTube and Hulu on Xbox 360.

Throughout their career, Nitin has demonstrated strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a track record of successfully managing engineering teams and implementing innovative solutions in various industries.

Nitin Shantharam began their education at UC Irvine in 2006, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Computer Science. Nitin completed their undergraduate studies in 2010. Following this, they continued their education at UC Irvine and pursued a Master of Science degree in Informatics, which they completed in 2012.
