Alex Monk has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Alex began their career as a Custodian at Velva High School in 2010 and worked there until 2013. From 2012 to 2013, they also worked as a Warehouse employee at Poynter's Ag Supply. In 2014, they interned as an Engineering Intern at Ackerman-Estvold. Alex then joined Whiting Petroleum Corporation as an Operations Engineer Intern in 2015, where they analyzed leases and identified solutions for problem wells. In 2016, they held the position of Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Dakota and also worked as a Geophysics Graduate Research Assistant at EERC. In 2017, they became a Rod Pump Field Engineer Trainee at Schlumberger and later transitioned to the role of Field Engineer I. In 2018, they worked as a Gas Lift Design Engineer at Schlumberger for a short period before joining Creedence Energy Services, LLC in 2019. At Creedence Energy Services, they have held various roles, including Field Engineer I, Field Engineer II, and currently serves as the Field Engineer Manager.

Alex Monk attended Velva High School from 2009 to 2012, where they earned a high school degree. Alex then went on to study at the University of North Dakota from 2012 to 2015, majoring in Petroleum Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. During their time at the university, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree.
