Ian Hughes

Ian Hughes is an experienced librarian with a strong background in research and instruction. Currently serving as a Research & Instruction Librarian at Creighton University since February 2022, Hughes has previously held the position of Reference Coordinator at Purdue University Northwest, where responsibilities included teaching information literacy and assisting faculty with research. Additional experience includes roles as Reference Librarian at Johnson & Wales University, where Hughes taught various library instructional sessions, and multiple positions at Wayne State University, focusing on reference services and research assistance. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University, a Master’s in Theology from Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and a Bachelor’s in English from Valparaiso University. Hughes has also contributed to the American Library Association and engaged in various educational and creative projects.
